Description

Spore and Mite Diagnostics is a targeted lab service that examines adult bees for two of the most common internal parasites affecting colony health: Nosema spores and tracheal mites. Using microscopic analysis, we assess infection presence and severity, helping you make informed treatment or management decisions. This service is ideal for routine health checks, seasonal transitions, or unexplained colony decline.

Each report includes:

• Microscopic detection and estimated spore load of Nosema apis or Nosema ceranae

• Thoracic dissection to identify presence of tracheal mites (Acarapis woodi)

• Severity rating for each parasite based on observed counts

• Notes on sample condition and collection quality

• Observations to support treatment timing, prevention, or further diagnostics
